Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Freight Broker to join our Travel Services team in the Hospitality and Tourism industry. The Freight Broker will be responsible for coordinating and managing the transportation of goods and products for our clients. This role requires strong communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to build and maintain relationships with transportation providers and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate transportation logistics for the movement of goods and products, ensuring timely delivery and optimal cost efficiency.
2. Establish and maintain relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and other transportation providers to secure competitive rates and reliable services.
3. Negotiate freight rates and contracts with transportation providers to ensure cost-effective solutions for clients.
4. Manage the entire freight brokerage process, including receiving and processing transportation requests, dispatching carriers, tracking shipments, and resolving any issues or delays that may arise.
5. Provide excellent customer service by promptly addressing client inquiries, concerns, and complaints related to transportation services.
6. Analyze transportation data and market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
7. Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities, including contracts, invoices, and shipment tracking information.
8. Comply with all relevant industry regulations and guidelines, including those related to safety, security, and customs requirements.
9. Collaborate with internal teams, such as sales and operations, to ensure seamless coordination of transportation services and meet client expectations.
10. Stay updated on industry developments, market trends, and emerging technologies to enhance service offerings and maintain a competitive edge.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
2. Proven work experience as a Freight Broker or in a similar logistics role within the travel services or hospitality industry.
3. Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics operations, including shipping methods, routing, and customs regulations.
4. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with carriers, clients, and internal stakeholders.
5. Proficient in using transportation management software and other relevant tools to manage and track shipments.
6. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
8. Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records and documentation.
9. Familiarity with industry regulations, including safety and security protocols.
10. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules, including occasional weekends or evenings as required.
